Summer holidays in Sesto / Sexten

Vitamin D as in Dolomites

Summer in Sesto is multi-coloured. You can enjoy pleasant walks at the bottom of the valley, in the Monte Elmo area or on the numerous paths of the Dolomites. The well-known “hut-to-hut trek” is very popular and enables you to discover the Three Peaks (Drei Zinnen - Tre Cime di Lavaredo) passing the Auronzo, Lavaredo, Locatelli, Pian di Cengia and Comici huts.

Wonderful walks with beautiful destinations: the Klammbach, Nemes and Coltrondo Alm.

Climbing

Climbing

For the bravest there are different vie ferrate and climbing routes: the most famous is the “Strada degli Alpini”, which is a climbing route created by Italian mountain troops or Alpini during the First World War.

Sesto

Culture

The fascinating outdoor museum known as “Bellum Aquilarum” (War of the Eagles) on the Croda Rossa is dedicated to the First World War on the Italian Front. Similarly, the exhibition in the centre of Sesto in the immediate vicinity of the Apartments Sabine in Sesto focuses on the fighting in the Sesto Dolomites from 1915 to 1918.

Excursions

Excursions

For those who wish to enjoy a beautiful but extremely peaceful walk, we suggest following the Meditation Path (which passes right in front of the Apartments Hösler) as far as the mystical Waldkapelle - Cappella del Bosco chapel.

Mountain biking

Mountain biking

Cyclists will also find beautiful routes, both at the bottom of the valley and on the mountains, which start directly in front of the houses.

And for the younger ones Sexten - Sesto offers many well equipped and very appealing play areas, sometimes directly in the forest.
